Household Hazardous Waste Collection Scheduled for May 14

The Nodaway County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Site will be open Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The HHW Collection Site is located at the Nodaway County Maintenance Barn, 1516 East Halsey Street, Maryville, Missouri. Brochures are available at the Nodaway County Administration Building, the Regional Council office, or online at www.nwmorcog.org.  Residents of Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth Counties are welcome to participate (ID required). There is no fee to drop-off; it is FREE for residents only.  No commercial or business waste can be accepted. 

Examples of HHW include: household chemicals (bleach, ammonia, and cleaners) fertilizers, pesticides, brake fluid, transmission fluid, household waxes, Ni-cad, lithium, and lead acid batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs, florescent tubes, antifreeze, oil base paint, and varnish.  No latex paint accepted.  Latex paint can be dried and put into the trash.  Directions provided upon request. Keep materials in the original container.  Do not mix household hazardous wastes together. For further information, contact Robin Davidson at 660-582-5121, ext. 4 or email:  robin@nwmorcog.org.

City Wide Clean-Up

  

CITY WIDE CLEAN-UP

May 17, 2022

There will be door to door pick-up within the City of Burlington Junction. All items should be placed at the curb for pick-up before 7:00 AM on May 17th.

The clean-up is for household items that do not fall under the weekly generated category (sofas, chairs, etc.). 

White goods (stoves, washers, dryers, etc.) and other trash will be picked up at the curb.

REMEMBER—NO TIRES, NO BATTERIES, YARD WASTE, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS (PAINT OR CHEMICALS) NO CONSTRUCTION OR DEMO DEBRIS, NO ASHES OR BURN BARRELS.

Anyone having a television, computer, or florescent light bulbs to be picked up should notify the trash services at 1-660-623-9444 prior to clean-up day.

Trash, derelict vehicles and other items of nuisance will be subject to fines on May 18th at the direction of the City Council.
