About Us

The City of Burlington Junction

Burlington Junction is a friendly, small, incorporated town of just over 500 people, tucked up into the North West corner of the 'Show Me State’, close to the Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa borders. The major airport cities of Omaha, NE and Kansas City, MO are both about 90 minutes away, making Burlington Junction a very accessible, centrally placed and desirable location. The cost of living is low compared to most other areas of the United States. Property prices are very affordable. The countryside is green and open, with hunting, fishing and other recreational pursuits readily available. Our drinking water quality is excellent, and our high speed internet service is outstanding. The neighborhood is quiet and safe.  This is a great place to live, work, retire or to raise a family.

A comfortable 20 minute drive to the south west takes you to Maryville, MO. Here you can find major supermarket chains, restaurants, recreational facilities and all the services you might need. Maryville is also home to NWMO State University. Founded in 1905 as a teachers college it is official Missouri State Arboretum. NW has around 7,100 students and has been named the safest college campus in Missouri. NWMO is famed for its football team, the Bearcats.

Clarinda, IA, located directly north of Burlington Junction, is again about a 20 minute drive. Clarinda is a pretty market town with a number of good restaurants and stores.

Burlington Junction services include: Junction T gas station, Goff Home Grocery, Highway 136 Road House, Kiss My Grits Kafe, USPS Post Office, R Family Cuts hair salon, L&S car wash, West Nodaway Family Medicine health clinic, Terry Nicholas Insurance. IAMO Communications, West Nodaway School (serving grades Pre-K to 12), MFA, and Farmers Supply.
