City of Burlington Junction Public Water System Failed to Correct Violations Following Letter of Warning.
City of Burlington Junction PWS (MO1010117) is required to have an operator certified at the DS II and DW C level or higher. However, we do not have an operator certified at this level and are therefore in violation of Missouri Safe Drinking Water Regulation 10 CSR 60-14.010.
What should I do?
For this type of violation, actions such as boiling drinking water are usually not deemed necessary for the general population. However, if you have specific health concerns, consult with your doctor.
What does this mean?
This is NOT an emergency. If it had been an emergency, you would have been notified within 24 hours. However, as our customers, you have the right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct the situation.
What is being done?
The City of Burlington Junction is/has sent employees to the 10-Day Drinking Class provided by MRWA to obtain the proper certificates needed. The City has also been in close working contact with MODNR on the above topic, and is following the guidelines.
